A patient tells her story
Connie Culp, the first U.S. face transplant patient, is now telling her story. Though her story is not yet complete, in coming forward, she is hoping to help foster acceptance of others who have suffered from burns and other disfigurements.
I am a communication scholar and research supervisor at the Medical College of Wisconsin. My combination of communication and clinical research experience has fueled my interest and expertise in health communication, including physician-patient and nurse-patient communication. I am also interested in the conduct and management of medical research, including communication about medical research and ethical issues in medical research.
